One Response to “i’ve tumbled marble floors & they look extremely dirty. I mop with soap, Mr. Clean, bleach etc. No dice.
Are the floors sealed? Marble is a very porous material.
If you go to a tile supplier, they should have cleaners for natural stone. (That is what it will say on the container)
I would also suggest you use an impregnator, not a sealer. Once you tiles are cleaned, apply a couple of coats–usually just wipe it on by hand with a rag–and allow it to penetrate into the surface of the tile. Spend the money and get a high quality one. It won’t discolour your marble, but it will enhance the colours. Once you’ve done all that, your floors will be a lot easier to maintain, and a simple reapplication every couple of years should keep you floor looking beautiful.
