How do you cut marble tile? Is it the equal as ceramic?

by @ 5:13 pm on 05/26/2011. Filed under General

I ran into a large sale on marble and got it for below $1/sq ft.

At This Time I’m excited that I won’t be capable to mount it. My HOA doesn’t like noisy noises or building so I’m certain they’ll frown on me using a saw to cut it. Can it be scored and broken like ceramic?
I living in a condo with no garage.

Assumption the after that question is…
Anyone need to purchase some marble?

No. Marble is delicate and must be cut with machinery.

You will most likely need a wet saw.

You can probably rent one for a few days.

If you have a garage, that should cut down on some of the noise.

EDIT: Okay, so no garage. Hmmm. Just tell your neighbors you’ll be making some noise for a few days and to deal with it. ;)

marble is much softer than ceramic, and is cut with a slow moving saw whilst running water over it,it is one of the oldest used building materials and was probably used in Atlantis, Some of the oldest pillars found in Greece and on the Ocean floor near the Bimini islas.

These people did not have machines and it must have been cut by hand.
